We aren’t a software company that decided to enter the marine space. We are marine professionals who learned to build software because the existing tools weren’t good enough.
Yacht Logic wasn’t built in a Silicon Valley boardroom. It was built by Kevin Kates, a marine professional with over 25 years on the water. Kevin isn’t just a career captain who has run vessels up to 45 meters (145 feet) — he has owned and operated successful marine service businesses since 2005. Today, he still owns an active marine service company employing over 20 technicians.
He knows what it’s like to manage a mega yacht crew, and he knows what it’s like to try and
track billable hours for a team of mechanics on the dock. When he looked for software to run his
own operations, everything on the market was either too complicated, too expensive, or clearly built by developers who had never actually worked on a boat.
So he built his own. Yacht Logic is the result of decades of real-world marine experience,
designed to solve the exact problems boaters, captains, and service owners face every single day.
